Bricklink Designer Program brickbytes
Created for Series 11 of the Bricklink Designer Program (BDP), this model was conceptualized as a decorative, tranquil desktop vignette. Inspired by traditional Japanese architecture, the build features a detailed market diorama, fully customizable street decorations, a fully functioning minifigure-scale vending machine, and intricate building techniques for adult fans!
To accomplish this, I explored many layouts during my ideation in Bricklink Studio, landing on a design that balanced functionality, level of detail, and an optimized parts count.
In addition to the digital model, I opted to physically prototype the build with elements on hand. This gave me the opportunity to test functional aspects and play features in the model. Including, as shown below, with the customizable street decorations.
